Here’s the Starfield PlayStation 5 box art, along with more information from Bethesda about the game’s release on PS5 and the latest update.

I’m so excited! Bethesda just announced that Starfield is finally coming to PlayStation 5 on April 7th! And that’s not all – they’re also releasing a big new update called Terran Armada, plus Free Lanes, on all platforms the same day. It’s going to be a huge day for Starfield fans!
Starfield is one of the biggest games Bethesda Game Studios has ever made, and it’s gotten even better since its release in 2023. Through updates and expansions, including a major story add-on and over 1,000 player-created mods, the game’s universe has been significantly expanded and improved with new content, features, and quality-of-life enhancements.
The update arriving on April 7th is the largest yet for Starfield, offering a complete and improved experience for both newcomers and long-time players exploring the Settled Systems.
Coming to PlayStation 5
On April 7th, Starfield launches on PlayStation 5, letting players experience vast cosmic adventures and explore the universe from the comfort of their homes.
Starfield for PlayStation 5 is designed to fully utilize the console’s features, including the lightbar, adaptive triggers, and touchpad. On the more powerful PlayStation 5 Pro, players have a choice: they can enable a performance mode for smoother gameplay with a higher frame rate, or a visual mode for enhanced graphics.
Bethesda Game Studios is working to make Starfield accessible to newcomers and add more content for existing players. The standard version of the game will cost $49.99 and be available on all platforms, making it easier for everyone to join the adventure.
Free Lanes Update & Terran Armada Story DLC
The Terran Armada DLC adds a brand-new questline to the Settled Systems, introducing players to fresh characters, locations, enemies, and rewards. This new story puts you in the role of a key player in humanity’s future as you fight off the robotic invasion led by the Terran Armada.
The new Free Lanes update for Starfield adds exciting features for all players, both new and returning. It primarily allows you to travel freely between planets within a star system using cruise mode. During these journeys, you’ll encounter random events, engage in activities, and enjoy interactions with your ship’s crew, enhancing the overall Starfield experience.
Additional features coming with the update include:
Players can explore a wealth of new content, including unique encounters, points of interest, and dungeons, significantly expanding the game’s variety and discovery opportunities.
X-Tech – A new resource used to upgrade weapons, ship modules, and more
New, tougher versions of enemies are being added, each with special abilities that make them more challenging. These could include extra protection, faster attacks, or the ability to inflict elemental damage.
Moon Jumper – New land vehicle
Outpost improvements – Cross-outpost storage & Milliewhale pet
New crew – Muria and the mini-bot
Starborn Improvement – Ability to bring a limited number of items through the Unity to a NG+
The new Free Lanes update is available to all players at no charge. As a thank you, players who already own the Premium Edition on Xbox and Steam will also receive the Terran Armada DLC for free.
The Trackers Alliance was added to Starfield in 2024, letting players take on the role of a bounty hunter and explore the Settled Systems in new ways. Bethesda Game Studios has expanded this experience with five new adventures, which are now available for players to enjoy.
This update adds more content for bounty hunters, including new people to track, missions to take on, and prizes to earn. Players who already own the original Trackers Alliance content will get this new content automatically, at no cost. If you’re new to bounty hunting, you can get everything for 700 Creations Credits.
These new releases represent an exciting next step for Starfield, delivering the most polished version of the game to a wider audience as the game’s universe grows. Keep an eye on our social media for updates on the next major Starfield update, and visit Bethesda.net for all the latest news.
