Following changes to Microsoft’s publishing approach, it looks increasingly likely that Starfield will eventually come to PlayStation 5. However, PlayStation 5 players hoping to explore Bethesda’s space RPG this year will have to wait quite a while.
Someone asked gaming news source NateTheHate on X (formerly Twitter) for updates on the game’s PlayStation port. He replied with:
Believe the announcement will be in 2026 unless plans change.
We’ve seen similar reports before about a possible release of Starfield on PS5. Back on August 1st, rumors began suggesting the game could arrive on PlayStation 5 in spring 2026. This release would likely happen alongside the launch of the second downloadable content pack – potentially called ‘Terran Armada’ – and a significant game update.
PlayStation 5 owners eager to explore the cosmos will need to wait a little longer, as is typical with releases like this.
