Stardew Valley reveals two new romance options for 1.7 update

Stardew Valley recently celebrated its tenth anniversary and, in a subtle update, added two new characters you can now romance – a feature fans have been asking for!

The announcement came as ConcernedApe marked the 10-year anniversary of his popular game on February 26th. For a while, players had been eagerly anticipating update 1.7, which was revealed last year but lacked detailed information. Fans carefully analyzed any hints about potential marriage options, and during a livestream celebrating the anniversary, the developer finally shared the details.

Stardew Valley 1.7 confirms Clint and Sandy as new marriage options

During the livestream, ConcernedApe announced that players will soon be able to marry Clint and Sandy in update 1.7.

Since Stardew Valley launched in 2016, Clint has been the town’s blacksmith, improving players’ tools and opening geodes. Many fans noticed he secretly likes Emily and wished the game included a more developed story arc for him, as his feelings have remained unresolved.

Sandy, the owner of the Oasis shop in the Calico Desert, became available to players after they fixed the bus. She doesn’t often leave her shop, so opportunities to interact with her are limited, but her kind personality has always made her popular with fans.

These two characters were highly requested by players, and adding them fulfills a popular demand for more diverse romantic interests. Update 1.7 will also include a new farm and changes to the way children are handled, though we don’t have a release date yet.
