Stardew Valley is often described as a farming RPG, but the role-playing elements are actually quite simple. A modder known as Aedenthorn decided to change that by creating an interesting modification called Stardew RPG.
My mod achieves its goal in several ways. Primarily, it adds character stats. There are six of them:
- Sila.
- Kondycja.
- Zrecznosc.
- Inteligencja.
- Madrosc.
- Charyzma.
Each stat affects different parts of your character’s life. For example, Charisma influences your chances of having romances, the prices you pay in shops, and rewards from friends, while Strength impacts combat and how quickly you perform physical tasks, like chopping wood.

The mod also introduces a system for developing character stats and limits the use of certain items, requiring players to level up their characters accordingly. A permadeath system has been added, meaning every death is permanent.
This recent decision has sparked some debate, but thankfully, Stardew RPG was designed to fully integrate with the Generic Mod Config Menu. This allows players to disable permadeath and customize almost any aspect of the mod. Additionally, Aedenthorn encourages other modders to freely adapt their work, so we can expect even more RPG-inspired modifications in the future.
