Star Wars & Star Trek Actors Join Cast of Sci-Fi Movie Slime

A new sci-fi film, Slime, has added several well-known actors to its cast, including John Boyega.

Slime is an upcoming animated film marking Jeron Braxton’s first time directing a feature-length movie. Brian Ash wrote the script and will also be an executive producer. Scott Mescudi, also known as Kid Cudi, is set to star in the film.

According to Deadline, Willow Smith, Teyana Taylor, Anna Sawai, and John Cho will star alongside Kid Cudi and John Boyega in the upcoming movie, Slime.

Slime is set in the near future and follows Muna, a hopeful but financially struggling young woman. She joins a paid medical trial and is injected with a strange substance that gives her uncontrollable, dangerous powers. Now a fugitive, she takes Glenn, the lab technician who gave her the injection, with her. Together, they embark on a dangerous journey through a decaying, dystopian world, desperately searching for safety and a way to reverse the effects. As time runs out, the question remains: will Muna become a terrifying threat to humanity, or its unexpected hope?

Kid Cudi is composing the original music for the film and is also a producer, working with Smith, Alex Lebovici, Karina Manashil, and Aaron Bergman. Ibrahim Mohammed, Chase Vergari, Craig Peck, Dennis Cummings, Brian Ash, Michael Learner, Jon Oakes, Christian Mercuri, Courtney Chenn, and Waylen Lin are executive producers on the project.

John Boyega is known for his role as Finn in Star Wars, as well as appearances in films like Attack the Block (2011), Pacific Rim Uprising (2018), The Woman King (2022), and They Cloned Tyrone (2023). Willow Smith, daughter of Will Smith, has starred in I Am Legend (2007) and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008). Jermaine Taylor has appeared in Coming 2 America (2021), The Book of Clarence (2023), and will be in One Battle After Another (2025).

Sawai is an actress known for her roles in popular productions like F9 (as Elle Lue), Shōgun (as Toda Mariko), and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (as Cate Randa). Cho is well-known for playing Hikaru Sulu in the recent Star Trek movies. He’s also appeared in films such as Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004), Columbus (2017), Searching (2018), and Afraid (2024), among others.
