Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic announced for consoles and PC

At The Game Awards 2025, Arcanaut Studios revealed Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, a new single-player action RPG with a strong story. It’s considered a spiritual successor to the classic Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The game will be available on PC and various consoles.

Arcanaut Studios is headed by Casey Hudson, a veteran game developer known for directing the popular titles Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the Mass Effect series when he worked at BioWare.

StarWars.com recently spoke with lead producer James Hudson and Lucasfilm Games VP Douglas Reilly about the origins of their new game. Hudson shared that the game will feature original characters and a brand new story, and expressed his excitement for the project, saying, “We’re still in the early stages of development and have a lot of work ahead, but I’m thankful for the support of KOTOR fans and eager to share more as soon as possible.” Reilly clarified that while the game isn’t a direct sequel to Fate of the Old Republic, it’s being created by many of the same people who worked on that beloved game.
