Disney recently released the new trailer for The Mandalorian & Grogu, and fans believe they spotted a brief appearance by famous director Martin Scorsese in the footage.
It had been a while since a Star Wars movie was in theaters – the last one was ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ in 2019 – so fans were surprised when the Super Bowl trailer for ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ felt more like a throwback to old beer commercials than a preview of the new story. Luckily, Disney quickly followed up with a proper look at the next chapter for Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu.
The new film follows Din and his companion as they track down dangerous Imperial leaders after the defeat of the Emperor, and before the rise of the First Order. They’ll team up with Ward (Sigourney Weaver) and the Rebel Alliance to bring peace to the galaxy. A preview showed Din battling a powerful Hutt named Rotta (Jeremy Allen White), and also brought back Zeb (Steve Blum) from the animated series Star Wars Rebels.
Some Star Wars fans believe they’ve spotted a brief appearance by director Martin Scorsese in the trailer for The Mandalorian & Grogu.
Star Wars fans think Martin Scorsese is the Ardennian chef in The Mandalorian & Grogu
The Mandalorian begins his search for the Hutts by visiting a food stall, hoping to get information. He offers the cook a rare Rebel coin as a bribe, and the cook eagerly agrees to share whatever he knows.
When the famous bounty hunter says the name of the Hutts, the four-armed Ardennian chef immediately shuts down his stall, politely saying, “Closed for the night, thank you!” This quick scene is simply meant to show how feared the Hutts are. However, many viewers believe the small, furry chef is voiced by Martin Scorsese.
The highly acclaimed director behind classics like Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, Raging Bull, The Departed, and The Wolf of Wall Street made a surprising cameo appearance, leaving fans stunned. One viewer expressed their excitement online, saying, “Mando looks great, Grogu is adorable, I’m thrilled about Zeb, and wait… is that Martin Scorsese?!?”

Fans were surprised and excited to learn that Martin Scorsese will be voicing a character in The Mandalorian. One person commented that the news made the show “10x cooler,” while another expressed their shock that the trailer featured Scorsese speaking before Pedro Pascal’s character.
Someone else pointed out that Martin Scorsese’s voice cameo wasn’t that shocking, considering he also appeared in the 2004 film Shark Tale.
Yes the idea of Scorsese voicing a character in Star Wars is so hard to believe.

Some fans weren’t thrilled about the possibility of Scorsese making a cameo, suggesting he’s now involved in projects similar to theme park attractions. This refers to a recent interview where he compared big-budget blockbusters to roller coasters, implying he doesn’t view them as serious filmmaking.
