The campaign even involved an airplane displaying a message urging the studio to reconsider!

After sharing their initial reactions to the Kylo Ren movie online, some fans have taken their protest a step further. Collider reports that a group actually paid for a plane to fly over Disney headquarters, trailing a banner that read:

Originally, the planned sequel to the Star Wars saga was going to be called The Hunt for Ben Solo. Actor Adam Driver was developing the project with acclaimed director Steven Soderbergh. The idea of continuing Kylo Ren’s story beyond The Rise of Skywalker quickly became popular online, and many fans are now hoping Disney will reconsider canceling the film and bring the character back in this way.

Collider interviewed Lianna Al Allaf, the fan who paid to have a banner flown over Disney. She shared the reasons behind her decision, stating:
As a huge film fan, seeing this banner really gives me hope that Disney will listen to what we want. It’s amazing to see so much support for Ben Solo, and I truly believe this shows there’s a real demand for this movie. It’s fantastic to see the passion from fellow fans – hopefully Disney takes notice!
At the very least, this publicity has sparked even more discussion among fans about a potential Kylo Ren film. However, it’s still unclear if it will persuade Disney to reconsider their plans. Currently, Lucasfilm does have several Star Wars movies scheduled for theatrical release.
According to Adam Driver, Lucasfilm was enthusiastic about a story exploring what happened to Ben Solo after The Rise of Skywalker. However, Disney executives—including Bob Iger and Alan Bergman—didn’t want to revisit the idea of bringing the character back to life. Despite this, Ben Solo remains a popular figure with fans and is prominently featured in Disney’s theme parks.
Okay, Star Wars fans, mark your calendars! Shawn Levy is directing a new film, Starfighter, which is finally bringing the saga back to the big screen on May 28, 2027. Now, while we’ve heard rumblings about a Rey-centered movie with Daisy Ridley returning, don’t expect either of these films in 2026.
