On the 28th of January, 2025 at 10 am Pacific Time / 1 pm Eastern Time / 6 pm Universal Coordinated Time, the developers of Destiny 2: Heresy conducted a livestream simultaneously on Twitch and YouTube. During this event, Bungie unveiled important details that players can anticipate in the upcoming finale set for release on the 4th of February, 2025. The broadcast also delved into new narrative developments, as well as promised numerous updates and fresh gear items. Among these additions is a collaboration with Lucasfilm’s Star Wars intellectual property, offering exciting new pieces.
In today’s livestream, it was revealed that Bungie and Lucasfilm Games are teaming up to integrate Star Wars-themed equipment into Destiny 2. With the release of Heresy, there will be three new armor designs (one per class) inspired by Imperial soldiers, as well as a variety of accessories reminiscent of Star Wars.
In Destiny’s universe, these fresh cosmetics transform Guardians into characters reminiscent of Stormtroopers. However, whether this Star Wars-inspired TIE Bomber in the promotional image serves a functional purpose within the game is yet to be seen; we’ll find out when the Heresy episode goes live next month. It has been hinted that themed accessories will be included as part of this crossover, so it’s possible that the TIE Bomber is one such accessory, but we’ll have to wait until 4th February 2025 to confirm.
