Season 2 of Squid Game: The Challenge is now streaming on Netflix, featuring 456 contestants competing for a grand prize of $4.56 million. We’re keeping track of all the action, with updates on each game’s winners and who has been eliminated.
Similar to the show Squid Game, this reality TV version features contestants competing in challenging kids’ games. However, instead of life-or-death consequences, losing players are simply covered in ink.
Season 2 will feature physical challenges inspired by games like Mingle, the Six-Legged Pentathlon, and Marbles. We’ll also see some brand-new competitions, including a thrilling take on the classic board game Slides and Ladders, plus smaller tests between the main events.
Here’s a rundown of what happened in each game and challenge, including who was eliminated and who’s still competing for the prize money. Be careful – spoilers are included!
Game 1: The Count

- Players eliminated: 227
- Players remaining: 229
The first game, called The Count, introduces a new method for reducing the number of players without repeating the Red Light, Green Light challenge. The 456 contestants are split into two teams – O’s and X’s – and placed in separate rooms, but only one team will make it through.
Identical twins, Raul and Jacob, both volunteered to lead teams, unaware they’d be assigned to different rooms. In each room, the team had to guess when 456 seconds had elapsed and hit a button at the precise moment.
Okay, so here’s how it worked: only one of the two rooms would get the time right and stay in the game – the other one was out! Each team picked someone to be in charge of the timer and keep everyone on track.
- O’s: led by Player 205 (Ida), a nurse who relies on her medical timing instincts
- X’s: led by Player 89 (Michael), a musician with a strong sense of rhythm
The results are as follows:
- Winning team: X’s – 2 seconds out
- Eliminated team: O’s – 12 seconds out
However, because Player 431 volunteered, he’s granted immunity and allowed to remain in the game.
Cash prize amount after Game 1: $2.27 million
Test 1

- Players eliminated: 3
- Players remaining: 226
Okay, so here’s the deal with Player 431. He can stay in the game, but it’s super tricky! He has to secretly get rid of three other players within just one hour, or both twins are going home. And the way he eliminates someone is so weird – he just walks up to them, says their player number, and tells them, “Good luck in the game!” It’s a crazy way to play!
They end up selecting the following contestants to eliminate:
- Jackie (Player 107)
- Bryce (Player 285)
- Blake (Player 286)
Since Player 431 completes the mission successfully, the brothers get to continue in the game.
Cash prize amount after Test 1: $2.3 million
Game 2: Six-Legged Pentathlon

- Players eliminated: 113
- Players remaining: 113
The next challenge, called Six-Legged Pentathlon, is based on a scene from the Season 3 trailer of Squid Game. Players will compete in teams of ten, though there will be a couple of smaller teams with eight players to make sure everyone can participate.
Larger groups are divided into two teams of five or four players. A unique challenge involves tying the legs of each team together, creating three pairs that move as six-legged units. Teams then compete in a relay race around a track, and at each stop, one player must complete a small game before the team can continue.
Players need to finish the game to advance to the next checkpoint. To do so, they’ll complete a series of mini-challenges, including Ball in a Cup, Flying Stone, Gonggi, House of Cards, and Jegi.
Okay, so the biggest difference from the Netflix show is they ditched the timer! Instead of racing against the clock, we just have to finish all five mini-games first and hit that finish line. Whoever does that moves on, and the other team? They’re out – instantly halving the number of players left in the game. It’s pretty straightforward, actually.
Cash prize amount after Game 2: $3.43 million
Test 2

- Players eliminated: 5
- Players remaining: 107
For Test 2, the players who took the longest to complete their mini-games need to come to the stage. Here’s who needs to come up:
- Ball in a Cup – Player 180 (Jorell)
- Flying Stone – Player 89 (Michael)
- Gonggi – Player 40 (Erik)
- House of Cards – Player 344 (Chris)
- Jegi – Player 289 (Sian)
The remaining players face a simple choice: press ‘O’ to save a contestant, or ‘X’ to eliminate them. However, the overwhelming vote is to eliminate all five, sending them all home.
After the first challenge, the Pink Guards announced that out of 226 players, 119 didn’t make it through. However, adding the 113 players eliminated from Game 2 and the five eliminated in this test gives a total of 118 – meaning one player is missing from the count.
As we saw in the first season, players can choose to leave the competition without it being filmed. So, even though it wasn’t shown or officially stated, it’s likely that one player left this way.
Cash prize amount after Test 2: $3.49 million
Game 3: Catch

- Players eliminated: 33
- Players remaining: 74
In the third round, players will compete in a team elimination game called Catch. They’ll split into four teams—purple, yellow, pink, and blue—with 26 players on each team.
There were 107 players in total, but that doesn’t quite match up with the team numbers. Three players – Heath (Player 82), August (Player 111), and Jonti (Player 118) – decided to play as individuals instead of joining a team.
By taking a risk, they automatically advance to the next round, but with a catch: each of them has to choose someone else to compete for them. If that person loses, they’re eliminated too.
Their picks are as follows:
- Player 82 (Heath) chooses Player 383 (Emily)
- Player 111 (August) chooses Player 437 (Karim)
- Player 118 (Jonti) chooses Player 152 (Viper)

The game is played on a court featuring a central circle and four lines – one in each team’s color – radiating from the corners. It begins with a thrower in the center passing the ball to a player positioned at the front of one of these lines.
If someone catches the ball, they’re safe and get to throw next. But if the ball is dropped, both the thrower and catcher are out of the game.
Each team gets a set amount of time to choose the order their players will compete. The game goes on until 16 balls are missed, and then any players still in the game automatically move forward after the last ball is dropped.
Players who are eliminated in Catch include:
- Player 97 (Sean)
- Player 351 (Debby)
- Player 272 (Ryan)
- Player 264 (Ram)
- Player 100 (Mark)
- Player 443 (Julissa)
- Player 167 (Payton)
- Player 69 (Joan)
- Player 233 (Donna)
- Player 145 (Bob)
- Player 95 (Carol)
- Player 245 (Edwina)
- Player 48 (Reagan)
- Player 198 (Mike)
- Player 416 (Karen)
- Player 210 (Gigi)
- Player 330 (Al)
- Player 423 (Beth)
- Player 57 (ShaMere)
- Player 326 (Jason)

- Player 165 (Zach)
- Player 152 (Viper)
- Player 390 (Dalton)
- Player 118 (Jonti) – as he chose Player 152
- Player 187 (Justin)
- Player 229 (Alicia)
- Player 312 (Kendra)
- Player 71 (Olga)
- Player 84 (Bridget)
- Player 223 (Manfred)
- Player 112 (Indy Lee)
- Player 455 (Isaac)
Cash prize amount after Game 3: $3.82 million
Test 3

- Players eliminated: 2
- Players remaining: 72
In this challenge, a Russian nesting doll is placed in the dormitory. Participants are told not to open it until it makes a sound. The first person to open the doll will find one of three things inside: a trick, a treat, or nothing. That person then chooses who will open it next. Here’s how the game will progress and what each person can expect:
- Player 153 (Austin): Disadvantage in the next game
- Player 417 (Greg): Nothing
- Player 410 (Isaiah): A cake
- Player 75 (Natalie): 10 coins
- Player 303 (Chelly): Immunity until the end of the next game
Okay, so I had 10 coins as Natalie, and I had to use them on the vending machine. But here’s the catch – it wasn’t for a power-up or anything good. I had to spend those coins to eliminate another player! It was rough, but I ended up choosing Player 80, Ashley, and she was immediately out of the game.
Matthew, known as Player 98, opened the final doll, meaning he had to choose someone for elimination. The group then voted to decide who would stay in the game. He nominated Player 431, Raul, as his opponent.
Voting results:
- Player 98: 55 votes – survives
- Player 431: 16 votes – eliminated
Cash prize amount after Test 3: $3.84 million
Game 4: Mingle

- Players eliminated: 30
- Players remaining: 42
If you’ve seen Squid Game Season 3, you’re probably familiar with Mingle. It’s a challenging game that tests how well players communicate, how strong their friendships are, and how quickly they can think. Players stand on a spinning platform, and when the music stops, each person is assigned a number.
Players need to quickly find a group that matches a specific number and rush to the corresponding room before time runs out. If they join the wrong group or don’t find one in time, they’re out of the game.

- Player 75 (Natalie)
- Player 355 (Nick)
- Player 294 (Christopher)
- Player 352 (Samantha)
- Player 172 (Leon)
- Player 161 (Steven)

Mingle shows 27 players being eliminated, but 42 advance to the next stage. This suggests that three eliminations weren’t televised or that some players chose to leave the competition on their own.
Once Mingle is up, the 42 players remaining include:

- Player 183
- Player 98
- Player 203
