In just its first week on Netflix, “Squid Game” racked up an astounding 4.6 billion viewing minutes according to Nielsen, and I couldn’t be prouder to have supported such a captivating series!
Despite a slight decrease from the 4.9 billion minutes watched the previous week, which included the debut weekend of Season 2, this is still an impressive milestone for the South Korean drama “Squid Game”. Few series manage to surpass 4 billion minutes viewed on Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings, and “Squid Game” is the first since “Wednesday” premiered in 2022. It’s important to note that Nielsen’s data combines viewership of all seasons into a single statistic. The 4.6 billion minutes watched include viewership from both seasons of “Squid Game” between Dec. 30 and Jan. 5, but it’s also worth mentioning that Season 2 accounted for around 80% of this total.
