As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I’ve seen quite a few unexpected twists and turns in this industry. The latest one being Square Enix’s tactical fantasy RPG, Triangle Strategy, mysteriously vanishing from the Nintendo Switch eShop.
Without providing a reason, the strategic fantasy role-playing game “Triangle Strategy” by Square Enix is no longer available for purchase on the Nintendo Switch eShop. But good news for those who’ve already bought it – you can continue to play and download the game at your convenience, as confirmed by Square Enix on Twitter.
The game can be found on Steam, currently discounted, with its publisher stating that it’s just temporarily out of service. They haven’t provided any information about when it will be back online.
Currently, the Triangle Strategy game isn’t available for purchase through the Nintendo Switch eShop. However, if you’ve already made a purchase, you can go ahead and download it. We are actively addressing the issue, and we will notify you as soon as the game becomes available again.

According to Square Enix, the game Triangle Strategy isn’t currently available for purchase through the Nintendo Switch eShop. However, if you’ve already bought it, you can still download it. Rest assured, we are addressing this issue and will notify you when the game becomes available for purchase again.
A comparable incident transpired in March when Octopath Traveler was unexpectedly removed from the eShop, only to reappear later with a minor adjustment: the distribution company had been switched, transitioning from Nintendo to Square Enix for global sales. It might have been a licensing issue, and it’s possible that Triangle Strategy will return in the future under a new publisher.
It could also be prepared for a larger launch on the PS5 and Xbox, much like Octopath Traveler 2, aligning with Square Enix’s recent efforts to make their games available across multiple platforms.
