Spotify is bringing its music and podcast library to AI chats like ChatGPT. Now, you can simply have a conversation to find and play your favorite audio content.
Spotify is now integrated with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, bringing music recommendations directly into the chatbot. This feature is available in English to all ChatGPT users – whether they use the free version or have a Plus or Pro subscription – in 145 countries, and works on both computers and mobile devices.
This update expands on the app’s already extensive compatibility with over 2,000 devices – including cars, TVs, and gaming consoles – as the company works to make it easier for people to find content no matter where they’re listening.
ChatGPT can now create playlists, help you find new artists, and let you explore podcasts – all right within your chat. This feature is available to both free and premium users.

How it works
Once you link your Spotify account, you can simply mention “Spotify” in your messages to ChatGPT. This lets the chatbot share songs, albums, playlists, or podcasts with you, and you can tap on any suggestion to open it right in the Spotify app.
You can also get suggestions by telling it what kind of music you’re looking for – whether it’s by genre, how you’re feeling, or what you’ll be doing. For example, you could ask for “a playlist for a weekend road trip” or “the newest songs from my favorite K-pop artist.”
Spotify lets everyone explore collections like Discover Weekly and New Music Friday. Premium users get playlists tailored just for them. This feature is completely optional, and Spotify confirms that no audio or video is sent to OpenAI to improve its AI.
Spotify announced in September that it had removed 75 million songs it identified as spam, as part of its efforts to combat the rise of AI-generated music. This came after reports in July that AI music was being uploaded to the accounts of deceased artists.
