83, developed by Blue Dot Games, serves as a tactical online shooter sequel to Rising Storm 2: Vietnam. Recently, they’ve unveiled fresh video content for this upcoming game.
The video showcases the game action, offering authentic fight sequences, extensive team fights, and emphasizing the importance of working closely with other troops.
The game titled ‘83‘ will only be available for Personal Computers (PC). It’s scheduled for release on Steam’s Early Access platform towards the end of this year.
This is the first venture by Blue Dot Games studio, however, the team members aren’t newcomers; they are veterans with experience in the Rising Storm series.
- ’83 will take us back to the times of the Cold War and allow us to participate in a fictional conflict between NATO and the Warsaw Pact.
- The devs are to track the results of all fights and this will affect the situation on the servers in following battles.
Several years of waiting and development hell
For quite some time, players have eagerly anticipated this project. It was initially unveiled back in 2019 by Antimatter Games studio, but due to challenging circumstances, the development process was eventually halted. Later in 2023, Blue Dot Games, a fresh company led by team members who had been working on this game up until that point, acquired the rights. However, it wasn’t until last November that the developers successfully secured an investor to provide the necessary funding for resuming and completing the project.
There’s still a significant interest in the game “Rising Storm 2: Vietnam”, which came out approximately 8 years ago. If you haven’t gotten around to playing it yet, there’s currently a discount on Steam that lets you purchase it for just $4.99 until February 1st.
