Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer Reveals Peter Parker’s New Status Quo

The first trailer for the new Spider-Man movie is finally here! The film picks up after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, and shows Peter Parker starting over as a neighborhood hero after the world forgets his secret identity.

The first look at Spider-Man: Brand New Day shows a return to smaller-scale conflicts, focusing on everyday criminals instead of huge, universe-threatening villains like Thanos. The casting of Marvin Jones III as Tombstone and Michael Mando as Scorpion confirms this shift. It’s great to see Spider-Man back to his roots, swinging through the city and taking down street-level crime.

The day before the trailer officially dropped, Tom Holland got fans excited by sharing short snippets of it on social media. He previewed these clips live on Instagram on March 18th, building anticipation for the full trailer release.

The scene opens with Peter Parker overlooking the city from a rooftop, watching a live Instagram video of his friends, Ned and MJ. He begins a voiceover, saying, “Hi, I’m Peter Parker. You probably don’t remember me, but we used to be friends.” He continues, revealing, “I’m not just Peter Parker, I’m Spider-Man,” just as the Punisher unexpectedly arrives and slams into him with a truck.

The trailer finally revealed Bruce Banner, also known as the Hulk, who fans had been expecting to appear in the new superhero movie.

Who Is Sadie Sink Playing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

Fans are eagerly trying to figure out which actor from Stranger Things has joined the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Sony and Marvel are remaining tight-lipped about the casting, so viewers are closely examining the trailer for any hints about her role.

There’s been a lot of talk online about Sadie Sink potentially playing Shathra, a powerful, ancient wasp goddess, in a Spider-Man movie. Shathra comes from a dimension called Loomworld and once ruled a place called the Great Nest. However, she lost control to Neith and her Great Web, which is also known as the Web of Life and Destiny. Shathra was responsible for wiping Peter Parker from existence, but thankfully, his friends were able to bring him back.

Adding to the excitement, this actor joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following in the footsteps of Robert Downey Jr. (appearing in Spider-Man: Homecoming), Samuel L. Jackson (Spider-Man: Far From Home), and Benedict Cumberbatch (Spider-Man: No Way Home).

Jon Bernthal, known for playing the Punisher (Frank Castle), will make a cameo appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, enhancing the film’s gritty, down-to-earth feel.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens in theaters on July 31.
