Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse Delayed – Actor Reveals Shocking Production Update!

A performer involved in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse offers a harsh truth about the eagerly awaited follow-up, as fans’ patience wears thin during the prolonged anticipation for Beyond the Spider-Verse.

In 2018, when Into the Spider-Verse premiered in cinemas, it created a significant cultural impact. Its stunning visuals, memorable soundtrack, and gripping narrative attracted countless viewers and was widely acclaimed as one of the top Spiderman movies to date.

Of course, sequels were planned out, with Sony Pictures detailing a three-part series. The second part, titled “Across the Spider-Verse,” hit theaters early in 2023, but it left viewers divided with its dramatic ending. The unresolved final scenes will be addressed in the upcoming third and concluding film, but we don’t yet know when that will be released.

Initially, it was intended that production on Beyond the Spider-Verse would proceed alongside Across the Spider-Verse, resulting in their simultaneous release. However, this strategy didn’t work out and now, an actor from the films is advising fans that we might have to wait a few more years for the next film.

Beyond the Spider-Verse still nowhere close to done

Initially, it was announced that Beyond the Spider-Verse would be released in March 2024. However, after Across the Spider-Verse came out, significant revisions to the script required several months and eventually halted during the 2023 Writer’s Guild strike.

Currently, there’s no clear timeline for the release of the next installment, which is set for 2025. Interestingly, the directors weren’t confirmed until as late as December 2024.

Consequently, it appears that the movie is yet to progress far along in its development stages, and Jharrel Jerome himself has verified this fact.

In an interview conducted on January 16, 2025, actor Jerome, known for portraying Miles G. Morales, discussed his role in the movie “Across the Spider-Verse.” This version of the character transforms into a villain towards the film’s conclusion, hailing from an alternate Earth.

As a gamer putting on my thinking cap, I’d say it like this: “Hey there fellow gamers! I’m still in the planning stages, not quite ready to dive into full-scale production yet. There’s a lot of brainstorming and figuring out what works best, but rest assured, great things are on their way!

In other words, eagerly waiting fans for Beyond the Spider-Verse should relax, as it seems we’re quite some time away from the release of this third installment, with the script not yet completed.
