Spider-Man movies are usually kept under tight wraps to prevent spoilers, but pictures taken on the set of the new film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, have already hinted at some key plot points. This movie is a big one for Marvel fans, as it’s the first time they’ll see Tom Holland as Peter Parker since the events of No Way Home. Filming started in early August 2025 and is still happening, with an expected completion date around November, if all goes well.
Unlike most movies filmed entirely in studios or on closed sets, Spider-Man: Brand New Day allowed fans to watch some of the filming in Glasgow, Scotland. While this created exciting experiences for those present, it also risked revealing key plot points and spoiling important scenes from the movie.
Even though filming sometimes happened in private, fans still managed to take pictures or videos on set, which unfortunately led to more spoilers for the show Brand New Day.
On set pictures and videos have featured actors like Mark Ruffalo, who plays Hulk, and Michael Mando, known as Scorpion, along with notable props such as the Punisher’s van.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated to be released on July 31, 2026.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s 5 Major Set Photo Spoilers
Punisher Will Get an Upgrade

Jon Bernthal is reprising his role as Frank Castle, the Punisher, in the new Spider-Man movie. Recent photos from the Glasgow set suggest his character will have a significant presence and upgraded resources, as fans noticed his iconic black battle van during filming.
As a huge movie fan, I’ve been following the set photos, and it’s wild! They’ve got the Punisher’s battle van on set, and it’s got that iconic white skull on the hood. Even cooler, one picture showed Spider-Man – Tom Holland’s version, I think – painted right on the hood! Apparently, there’s a big chase scene happening with this van going after a seriously massive, armored tank. We’ve seen a lot of pictures of that tank, so it’s going to be an epic showdown.
While Frank Castle’s iconic van appeared in the Netflix series Daredevil and Punisher, this marks its first appearance within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This suggests Frank Castle will have access to more advanced weaponry, potentially making him a more formidable presence in Spider-Man: Brand New Day compared to his role in Daredevil: Born Again. The van’s inclusion in the movie could also have significant implications for his upcoming Disney+ series.
The set photo of the Punisher’s battle van can be seen below:
The Return of DODC

The Department of Damage Control has played a significant role in the Spider-Man movies within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it will continue to do so in the upcoming film, Brand New Day. Although much of the movie was filmed in Glasgow, some scenes were also shot in Basingstoke, a town in the United Kingdom.
Photos taken on set showed a damaged wall at what looked like a Department of Damage Control (DODC) facility. This suggests a large-scale escape from a DODC prison, potentially unleashing numerous villains onto the streets of New York during the ‘Brand New Day’ storyline.
The tank previously seen in photos reappeared at the DODC facility set, where DODC members and Spider-Man pursued it.
Pictures showed the tank wrecked and overturned at the facility, hinting it might be involved in the upcoming prison escape. Flipping a tank that large would require incredible power, suggesting the Hulk could be responsible.
Peter and MJ Will Meet at a Key Location

Okay, so as a huge fan, I’m trying to avoid spoilers, but it’s tough! New set pictures seem to have revealed a really emotional moment in the next Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day. They showed Zendaya – it was actually the first time we’ve seen her on set for this film – and Tom Holland at a cemetery. And get this – there was a gravestone for Aunt May! Since she tragically died in No Way Home, this new movie will be the first time we see Peter dealing with her loss, and honestly, I’m already bracing myself for how heartbreaking that’s going to be. It’s going to be tough seeing him navigate all of that!
Fans debated whether Zendaya was playing her character, MJ, or simply visiting Tom Holland on the set, given their relationship. However, Zendaya was dressed as MJ, and Tom Holland had visible bruises, suggesting the scene involved both Peter Parker and MJ.
It might be unexpected to see them share the screen again, given that Doctor Strange’s spell caused everyone – including MJ – to forget Peter Parker. However, rumors of Zendaya’s return have been circulating for a while. While the details of her role are still unknown, recent set photos suggest that her character may regain her memories of Peter in the upcoming film, Brand New Day.
Scorpion Seems to Be Breaking Out of Prison

Okay, so I’m really excited – Michael Mando is coming back as Scorpion in the new Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day! And get this – some pictures from the set show him escaping from prison at some point in the film. It’s going to be awesome!
He was last seen in prison at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming with Adrian Toomes, also known as Vulture. Recently, photos from the set of Brand New Day show him wearing the same white jumpsuit from that scene.
Early photos from the set suggest a large-scale prison escape will happen in Brand New Day. It seems Scorpion will be involved, potentially leading to a conflict with Spider-Man. Photos also show Vulture wearing the same suit from the post-credits scene in Homecoming, and later alongside Tom Holland, strongly hinting at a battle between them.
Bruce Banner Sustains an Injury

As we’ve discussed, the Hulk will definitely appear in Brand New Day. There are hints that fans will see a particularly fierce version of Savage Hulk, more intimidating than before. Of course, Mark Ruffalo will also return as Bruce Banner, as expected. However, a recently leaked video from the set suggests Bruce Banner himself will be seriously injured.
A video filmed at the University of London shows Mark Ruffalo being carried on a stretcher. Covered in dust and with the New York City Fire Department nearby, it appears the scene depicts what happened after his character, Bruce Banner, transformed into the Hulk.
This is significant because Bruce Banner has managed his Hulk persona for a while, and hasn’t fully transformed into the Hulk on screen since Avengers: Infinity War. Footage from the set also confirms that Banner will be actively involved in the fighting and will be crucial to at least one major action scene in the movie.
