Recent reports suggest that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man could join forces with The Punisher to battle the Grey Hulk in a future movie. Although the story of the next Spider-Man film is still largely unknown, small clues are starting to emerge. Fans are already speculating about possible storylines, including ideas for a film potentially titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The Punisher and Spider-Man could fight Grey Hulk soon
As a huge Spider-Man fan, I’m incredibly excited by the latest rumors! Apparently, in the next Spider-Man movie – reportedly titled Brand New Day – we might see Spidey team up with the Punisher! But the biggest news? It sounds like they’ll be facing off against the Grey Hulk, also known as Joe Fixit. We’ve seen the Green Hulk in The Avengers and Professor Hulk in Endgame, but this version hasn’t shown up in the MCU yet. If these reports are true, it’ll be amazing to finally see a different side of the Hulk in Tom Holland’s next adventure, according to sources like ComicBookMovie.com.
The Grey Hulk was the first form of the Hulk, appearing in The Incredible Hulk #1 when Bruce Banner was initially transformed by the Gamma bomb. He later became the more familiar Green Hulk with continued exposure to gamma radiation.
You know, the Hulk’s iconic green skin? That wasn’t the original plan! It’s a funny story, actually. Stan Lee initially envisioned the Hulk as grey, but due to some technical difficulties with the printing process back then, he ended up looking green in the comics. Marvel liked it so much, they just rolled with it, and the rest, as they say, is history. What started as a printing error actually became the character’s defining feature – it’s a great example of happy accidents in comic book creation.
The Hulk’s Joe Fixit persona was later introduced in The Incredible Hulk #324, explaining the Grey Hulk’s connection to another side of Bruce Banner’s personality.
Although rumors suggest the Grey Hulk will be in Spider-Man 4, the studio hasn’t confirmed this. Mark Ruffalo is set to appear, but it’s still unknown which version of the Hulk he’ll play – or if we’ll see both the classic Savage Hulk and the Grey Hulk in the movie.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will come out on July 31, 2026.
