Since 2010, Games Done Quick has hosted Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) every January to raise money for charity through speedrunning. Their most recent event, held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the Wyndham Grand, just finished and brought in a significant amount of money.
An organizer shared on Reddit that Awesome Games Done Quick 2026 raised $2,443,414 for the Prevent Cancer Foundation, an organization dedicated to cancer prevention and early detection. Over the years, Games Done Quick has donated more than $28 million to the Foundation, contributing to a total of $59 million raised for various charities through their streams.
This year’s speedrunning schedule featured some amazing moments, including impressive Mario Kart World Free Roam performances and a Super Mario 64 relay race with 70 players each grabbing a single star. Highlights also included a remarkably quick Hollow Knight: Silksong run, a five-minute completion of Chrono Trigger, and a truly spectacular Pokemon Emerald speedrun that’s well worth checking out.
If you’d like to see some amazing gameplay, you can find the full collection of runs on Reddit.
Games Done Quick announced that Summer Games Done Quick will take place from July 5th to 11th. They’ve also set the dates for Awesome Games Done Quick 2027, which will be held in Atlanta from January 3rd to 9th.
