‘Spartacus: House of Ashur’ to Debut This Fall as First Teaser Promises ‘New Era’ of Gladiator Combat

Starz has dropped the first teaser for the sequel series “Spartacus: House of Ashur.”

The trailer hints at a fresh chapter of intense battles within the arena, filled with blood and grit. Furthermore, the trailer suggests that the series is due for release this autumn; however, an exact premiere date remains undisclosed as of now.

Watch the teaser below.

In November 2023, “House of Ashur” was given the go-ahead at Starz. The series had initially been in development back in February of the same year. Essentially, the show explores a hypothetical scenario: What if Ashur (Nick Tarabay) hadn’t perished on Mount Vesuvius following ‘Spartacus: Vengeance’, and instead, he inherited the gladiator school once belonging to Batiatus, in exchange for helping the Romans eliminate Spartacus and quell the slave rebellion?

I’m also part of this exciting production alongside Tarabay. Graham McTavish portrays Korris, who is none other than Ashur’s Doctore, and Tenika Davis brings the character of Achillia to life as an unyielding gladiatrix.

In a more concise way: I’m joining Tarabay, along with Graham McTavish (Korris, Ashur’s Doctore) and Tenika Davis (fierce gladiatrix Achillia).

And in the first person: I’ll be working alongside Tarabay, taking on roles like Korris, portrayed by Graham McTavish, who is Ashur’s Doctore, and the fierce gladiatrix Achillia, brought to life by Tenika Davis.

The creator, writer, and executive producer of “Spartacus”, Steven S. DeKnight, takes on the role of showrunner and executive producer for “House of Ashur”. Additionally, Rick Jacobson and Aaron Helbing serve as executive producers. “Spartacus: House of Ashur” is produced by Lionsgate Television.

The epic show “Spartacus” made its premiere on Starz in the year 2010, with the initial season known as “Spartacus: Blood and Sand.” This was later followed by a prequel series titled “Gods of the Arena,” which aired in 2011. Subsequent seasons included “Spartacus: Vengeance” in 2012 and “Spartacus: War of the Damned” in 2013.
