A restaurant in Spain is getting a lot of attention online for selling what they claim is the world’s most expensive hamburger. People on social media are debating whether the high price tag is justified.

The “world’s most expensive burger” costs more than most rent payments
Asador Aupa is a high-end restaurant in Barcelona, Spain, specializing in traditional Basque food. They’re known for their authentic Basque menu and unique tilted grill.
People aren’t interested in the grill itself, but rather Aupa’s new burger, which is being called ‘The World’s Most Expensive Burger.’

According to Aupa’s website, their burger features a blend of what they consider the world’s finest meats, a top-quality European cheese, and a sauce made with a premium liquor.
And there’s more – this burger isn’t available to just anyone. You need a special invitation to try it, and it costs a significant 9450€ (about $10,963 USD).
Aupa reports incredibly high interest in the new burger, meaning it won’t be ready until February 2026. However, if you’re eager to try it, you can join the waiting list by filling out a form.
Even doing all of that doesn’t automatically get you a burger. You also need to show you’ve made a positive contribution to the community to even be considered.
The burger, called ‘SUA’, was made by Chef Bosco, a cook and popular food personality. He set out to design a special burger, but wanted to avoid using expensive or unnecessary toppings like gold, caviar, or king crab.
The burger’s special recipe is a closely guarded secret. Aupa’s website says it’s made with some of the world’s best meats, and the unique sauce includes a rare and expensive ingredient that very few people know about.
Aupa proudly states this isn’t just a burger; it’s a lavish experience designed for a limited clientele.
Recently, several restaurants have gained attention for incredibly high prices. For example, in November 2024, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas faced criticism after charging VIP customers $653 for a pizza and wings combo.
