Sophie Turner’s Thriller Trust Becomes Global Streaming Hit On Paramount+

The streaming show Trust has quickly become popular around the world. Released in theaters in August 2025, this suspenseful thriller features Sophie Turner, famous for playing Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones. She even earned an Emmy nomination for that role in 2019.

As of today, January 5th, the movie Trust is the third most popular film on Paramount+ globally, according to FlixPatrol. It’s currently behind Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning and The Naked Gun (2025), but ahead of films like The Stranger in My Home, High Ground, Night Hunter, The Last Gunfight, Humane, World War Z, and The Substance.

This week, the series Trust is a Top 10 hit on Paramount+ in 21 countries, mostly in North, Central, and South America, as well as the Caribbean. It’s also popular in Ireland and the United Kingdom. While not currently available for streaming on Paramount+ in the US, you can rent or buy it on Prime Video for as little as $5.99.

Directed by Carlson Young (known for The Blazing World and Upgraded) and written by Gigi Levangie (who wrote Stepmom), Trust features Sophie Turner as a famous actress who hides away in a remote cabin after a public scandal. She soon discovers she’s been deceived and must fight to survive against someone she thought she could rely on.

The show features Sophie Turner alongside Rhys Coiro, known from Entourage, Billy Campbell, Peter Mensah (Spartacus), Forrest Goodluck (The Revenant), Gianni Paolo (Power), Renata Vaca, and Katey Sagal (Married… with Children).

Although Trust has been popular with viewers on streaming platforms, critics haven’t been impressed. It currently has a low 21% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with many describing it as a confusing and slow-paced thriller filled with unbelievable plot points and poor writing. Reviewers also pointed out several inconsistencies and a lack of tension, and some scenes were even unintentionally comical. While Sophie Turner’s acting has received some positive attention, most critics feel it isn’t enough to overcome the film’s fundamental flaws and wasted potential.

Viewers have very different opinions about the movie Trust. While many enjoyed its suspenseful mood, Sophie Turner’s acting, and thought it was a fun date night choice, others found it slow, confusing, and poorly written. Some found it exciting and memorable, while others felt it was messy, frustrating, and didn’t make sense.

I’ve been hearing a lot about Trust lately! It actually had a small release in theaters back in August 2025, but it didn’t make much money – around $368,000. But now, it’s really taking off on streaming! I’m not sure if it’s because of the actors involved or just people being curious, but it’s clearly found a whole new audience online.
