Sony deletes thousands of games by a single developer from PlayStation Store

Sony has taken down more than 1,000 games from its PlayStation Store. These games were all made by the same developer.

Rob Thanatos noticed that ThiGames, a developer known for simple, low-quality games like The Jumping Taco, once had 1194 games available on the store – the fourth highest amount of any developer. Now, all of those games have disappeared without any explanation from ThiGames or the store itself.

You can’t find these games for sale in the store anymore. The only evidence they ever existed is that players who bought them can still see their trophies and achievements on their profiles.

If you don’t actively seek out very niche games, you’ve probably never encountered ThiGames. They mostly create incredibly simple games, often involving controlling food items that jump – like ‘The Jumping Taco,’ ‘The Jumping Cookie,’ and ‘The Jumping Muffin.’ It’s pretty much exactly what it sounds like.

Thousands of games used by Trophy hunters removed from PS Store

Even though they’re simple games, PSN Profiles and the r/Trophies subreddit show thousands of players are enjoying them. This is largely because they’re quick to fully complete, letting trophy hunters easily earn a Platinum Trophy for their collection.

I’m really getting into The Jumping Taco! It’s cool how you get a Trophy after every 25 jumps, but it takes 500 jumps total to unlock the Platinum one – definitely a challenge, but I’m up for it!

Lots of these games are available on the PlayStation Store, from various developers – not just ThiGames. Although Sony hasn’t officially said why, it seems like they’re continuing to remove this type of content from their platform.

In early 2025, the company removed hundreds of games from its platform. These games were suspected of using artificial intelligence or containing reused content. A large number of them were created by RandomSpin, a developer that had released many titles in just a few years.
