Sony is raising the prices of its standard PlayStation 5, the PS5 Pro, and the Portal handheld gaming device globally.

With production costs increasing for many tech businesses, Sony announced on March 27 that they were raising prices, explaining it was a required measure.

Due to ongoing economic challenges around the world, we are raising the prices of the PS5, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal remote player everywhere.

We understand that changing our prices affects our players, and after thoroughly considering all options, we’ve made this adjustment to keep bringing you new and exciting, top-quality games around the world.

While Sony didn’t state a specific reason for the price changes, several factors likely contributed, including increasing costs and a global shortage of RAM.
