We’ve seen characters from different worlds team up before, but Sonic Rumble is doing something really unique: Godzilla, the famous monster, is joining the world of Sonic the Hedgehog in this new mobile game.
Starting December 22nd, Sega and Rovio are bringing Godzilla to Dr. Eggman’s Toy World with a new stage called ‘Godzilla Survival.’ The challenge is straightforward: players must survive a Godzilla attack while moving between boats in the ocean. Be warned – you won’t want to get cornered when Godzilla uses his atomic breath! This stage only offers one respawn, so run for your life – literally!
In Sonic Rumble, players can get Godzilla and Fire Rodan for free. If you purchase the premium pass, you’ll also unlock Mothra and King Ghidorah, plus a powerful nuclear pulse attack for Godzilla, alongside his regular heat ray. Mecha Godzilla with his Absolute Zero blast and Destroyah with his Variable Slicer ability will be available to buy in the RSR Shop.
The Godzilla Survival stage is only around for a limited time – one month – so be sure to experience it soon! You can find Sonic Rumble on the App Store, Google Play, and Steam.
Godzilla appeared as a character in the game Fortnite earlier this year, and a dedicated Godzilla video game is currently being developed, though it’s likely several years from release. Sonic the Hedgehog fans have a lot to look forward to as well: ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 4’ is scheduled for a movie release in March 2027, with another Sonic film planned for December 2028. Plus, the infamous ‘Ugly Sonic’ is making a comeback in a new fan-made edit of the Sonic the Hedgehog movie.
