Someone Dressed Up As Pac-Man To Play Pac-Man During AGDQ Livestream

Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ), a charity livestream held twice a year, started this week with speedrunners showcasing their skills in both classic and new games, including titles like Jet Set Radio and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. The event is known for being fun and attracting interesting people, and this year, on January 5th, it got a special guest: Pac-Man himself, who played Pac-Man World 2!

The livestream didn’t actually focus on Pac-Man at first. It began with players attempting fast completion times in games like Final Fantasy X, Mega Man Battle Network, Nuclear Throne, and Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. Later, the organizers had Minecraft creator DThaiPome play Pac-Man World 2. They promised that if the event raised $10,000, DThaiPome would speedrun Pac-Man while wearing a Pac-Man costume. The fundraising goal was quickly surpassed, and DThaiPome delivered, playing Pac-Man dressed as the iconic character.

Using clever skips and tricks, DThaiPome recently completed the classic platformer Pac-Man World 2 in about 30 minutes while playing a remastered version of the 2002 game.

Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) kicked off on January 4th and continues through January 11th. The event is packed with impressive video game speedruns, featuring titles like Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, Borderlands 2, Claire Obscur: Expedition 33, Mario Kart World, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Pokemon Legends: A-Z, Silent Hill f, Sonic Adventure, and many others. As always, AGDQ is raising money for charity, with this week’s proceeds going to The Prevent Cancer Foundation, a US nonprofit dedicated to helping people prevent cancer or catch it early.
