I visit theme parks often as part of my job as a journalist. Although I don’t always have time to ride the attractions – work gets in the way! – I’ve been on plenty of them. Like everyone else, I have a few favorites, but I’ve probably only ridden them a few dozen times.
As someone who loves theme parks, I’m amazed by Jon Hale, a man in Southern California who is about to ride Radiator Springs Racers – the *Carsthemed ride at Disney California Adventure – for the 15,000th time! You can read the whole incredible story on ABC 7 News in Los Angeles. Definitely worth checking out!

Okay, buckle up, folks! I just heard about a Disney fanatic who’s taking dedication to a whole new level. This person is planning to ride Radiator Springs Racers – yes, that thrilling ride – a whopping 15,000 times! Seriously, that’s a dream for pretty much any Disney lover, and they’re actually doing it. Talk about commitment!

Hale is about to finish an incredible eight-year quest to ride Radiator Springs Racers 15,000 times! That’s an average of five or six rides every day. He’s scheduled his 15,000th ride for December 8th, which is amazing. I can’t even imagine riding anything that many times – I rarely ride the same attraction more than twice in a day, with waiting in line and wanting to try other rides.
Radiator Springs Racers usually has a long wait at Disney California Adventure, but there’s a Single Rider line that can help. It seems this particular guest really utilizes it – possibly because he’s ridden the attraction over 15,000 times! On a crowded day, you could potentially ride five times using the Single Rider line for every one ride someone in the regular line gets to enjoy.
I really enjoy Disney California Adventure, especially Cars Land. However, the thought of riding Radiator Springs Racers 15,000 times seems a bit much! It’s a truly excellent ride and one of the best in the park, but I wonder if doing it that many times would eventually lose its appeal. If you still love it after 10,000 rides, though, I suppose going for 15,000 isn’t a bad idea.
There isn’t an official record book for theme park rides, but 15,000 rides on a single attraction is definitely impressive! I know some people who ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure frequently, but this person is on another level. I thought I loved theme parks, but they’ve definitely taken it to the extreme. I hope they have a wonderfully magical time on their 15,000th ride!
