Bella Ramsey has reiterated their interest in playing Spider-Man within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They mentioned this to Variety while at the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards.
A reporter brought up a past interview with Ramsey where they talked about wanting to play Spider-Man, which caused a lot of discussion online. Ramsey responded, laughing, that they had completely forgotten about it. The reporter then asked if Ramsey had continued to try and get the role.
They explained that a casual remark they made had unexpectedly gained attention, saying, “It’s funny how something small can cause such a reaction.” Ramsey also confirmed they are still interested in the role, but admitted, “I haven’t given it much thought since then.”
In an August 2025 interview with Variety, Ramsey was asked if they’d mentioned their interest in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe to their “The Last of Us” co-star, Pedro Pascal. Ramsey responded playfully, saying they weren’t sure, but joked they could be Spider-Man, acknowledging Tom Holland’s excellent performance in the role. They also revealed they’d recently become a Marvel fan, having watched one of Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man movies for the first time just a couple of months prior and found it “incredible.”
