Bethesda has just launched a significant update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition on Nintendo Switch.
Update 1.2 includes a frame rate lock of 30 frames per second for the ‘Prioritize Visuals’ setting, along with overall performance improvements and several bug fixes. While the Switch 2 version offered better graphics than the original Switch, it initially had problems with slow performance and delayed responses to player input.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition is now released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch (including the newer model), Xbox, and PC.
Here are the details for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition Switch Update 1.2, as released by Bethesda:

Skyrim Switch 2 Update 1.2 Patch Notes
Features:
We’ve added a 60Hz option in the Display settings. This lets you choose between better graphics (“Prioritize Visuals”) or smoother gameplay (“Prioritize Performance”).
To ensure smoother gameplay, we’ve limited the frame rate to 30 frames per second when ‘Prioritize Visuals’ mode is enabled.
Crashes and Performance Fixes:
We fixed a problem that caused the game to crash while reading the book “The Crimson Dirks Vol. 4” during the “Tilted Scales” quest when playing with German language settings.
Fixed an audio-related crash.
We fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash, get stuck loading, or freeze if you quickly pressed ‘Load’ several times in the pause menu.
We’ve resolved an issue that caused the game to crash if you repeatedly used the “Transmute Ore” spell outside the Haltered Stream Camp.
Improved FPS performance drops that occurred in the following locations:
during the Hide and Seek quest in Kynesgrove
during combat at Secunda’s Kiss
when discovering the “Drelas’ Cottage” location
when engaged in combat with a giant at the Talking Stone Camp.
Visuals Issues Fixes:
Viewing water planes from a distance or within menus caused them to shift up and down.
Distant aspen trees appeared with a blue tint.
When moving from caves to open areas, a faint outline of the cave entrance would briefly appear on the loading screen.
User Interface Fixes:
Changing between mouse and controller controls during conversations or when using the help menu would sometimes highlight the wrong options.
Callout prompts in help menus and user hints weren’t updating correctly when switching between mouse and controller. They didn’t change automatically to match the input method you were using.
The “Ready/Sheathe” option was missing from the Joy-Con 2 Mouse Controls menu.
The delete option was disabled in the Load menu when switching between using a mouse and a controller.
Deleting a save in the Save/Load menus reset the highlighted selection to the top of the menu list.
When using the mouse, the cursor would sometimes get confined to a small area of the screen when switching between docked and undocked views or while using GameChat.
Controls Fixes:
The “Eagle Eye” Archery perk remained active after switching between mouse and controller mode.
If you held the Right Joystick while changing button assignments, the button would be removed from the controls menu.
The Joy-Con 2 controllers provided haptic feedback while in mouse mode.
The buttons stopped working correctly when the controller settings were changed while the Joy-Con controllers were being used like a mouse.
Rotating the map in mouse mode was slower and less smooth than in controller mode.
Audio Issue Fix:
You’ll continue to hear scrolling sounds while navigating the Save/Load menus using the Left Joystick, or the buttons at the top and bottom of the screen.
Localization Fixes:
“Amiibo” appeared as plural in Spanish.
Miscellaneous:
Added new translations for the features listed above and UI updates.
Updates were made to the game credits.
