After a 15-year hiatus, the new Skate game is now available in early access, and even more content is planned. Similar to other popular online games, Skate will feature regular seasonal events and a system for unlocking cosmetic items. The first season, arriving in October, will include the “skate.Pass,” two special events, and various improvements to fix bugs and enhance the overall experience.
Skate Season 1 Start and End Dates
Skate season 1 will start on October 7 and run until December 2.
What You Can Expect From Skate Season 1
We don’t have all the specifics on cosmetics and events just yet. However, the first season will include two autumn-themed events: Skate-o-ween and 7-ply Maple Harvest.
You can pre-order season 1’s skate.Pass now via two “Founder’s Packs.”
The Founder’s Pack is available for $25 and includes 2,800 San Van Bucks (the game’s currency), special Mocap and Founding Founder cosmetic items, and access to the premium Skate.Pass for Season 1.
The Founder’s Deluxe Pack costs $50 and comes with everything in the standard Founder’s Pack, plus 3,100 San Van Bucks, special Meatman-themed items, Vans Founders Old Skool shoes, and retro Skate t-shirts.

EA has given a sneak peek at what’s coming in Seasons 2 and 3. Season 2 will include a new way to play with friends in co-op mode, plus more in-game events, voice chat for parties, and new skateboarding tricks like Impossibles and Handplants. The replay editor will also get some upgrades. Season 3 will focus on letting players personalize their characters even more with options like tattoos, and will introduce leaderboards to track progress. With each new season, players can expect bug fixes, general improvements, new skate parks, and collaborations with new brands.
So, the servers have been struggling a bit since launch, and the developers, Full Circle, put in server queues to try and fix things. A lot of us are also bummed that the game *always* needs an internet connection – we’re really hoping they’ll add an offline mode at some point. It’s been pretty popular though – we hit over 78,000 players online at the same time shortly after it came out!
