Skate Players Getting Free Rewards For Issues, Some But Not All Currency Will Carry Over

EA and Full Circle, the developers of the Skate game, recently published a blog post addressing player feedback since the game’s early access launch in September. They acknowledged some problems and explained that free rewards will be given to players, with some of those rewards transferring to the next season.

Skate has been played by tens of millions of people, but the developers recognize that not everyone has had a perfect experience. They’ve admitted things haven’t always gone as planned for players.

Full Circle was surprised by the high number of players who joined the Skate playtest. This influx of players unfortunately caused several technical problems, including bugs, glitches, issues with game progression, and performance slowdowns, according to the studio.

To show appreciation for their support, the Skate team at Full Circle is gifting all players with 2000 Tix and 500 SVBs. Just log in to Skate before the end of Season 2 on December 2nd to get them!

Full Circle is working to fix the problems and bugs in Skate. They’ve figured out what’s causing the “softlocks” that are stopping some players from continuing, but each issue seems to be different and needs its own fix.

Full Circle said addressing these softlock issues is a “top priority” for the studio.

Full Circle recently released an update designed to fix problems players were having with everyday gameplay. They said players should experience fewer errors, though some minor issues might still occur.

I’m really glad to hear the Full Circle team is still working on making the game’s progression and rewards feel just right! It’s awesome that they’re focusing on getting that balance perfect for players like me – it makes a huge difference in how much I enjoy the game.

Okay, so we’re still tweaking things to make sure the game feels good for everyone – whether you’re totally new, a seasoned pro, or just pick it up when you have time. Things like Rip Chips, Tix, and XP are all part of that, and it’s a bit of a balancing act. We know it takes time to get right, but we’re working hard to make the rewards feel fair, keep the economy healthy, and most importantly, make everything fun! Thanks for sticking with us while we fine-tune it all.

With the launch of Season 2 in December, we’re updating how progression works. Here’s a summary of the changes, explained by the development team at Full Circle.

  • Premium item value: We want you to feel good about what you’re spending your SVB on. So we’re working to make Premium items feel even more unique and valuable, and we’ll continue to make adjustments as needed.
  • skate.Pass tiers: We’re tweaking skate.Pass so it will be less of a grind to complete. You’ll also see more tiers going forward – all future Seasons will have around 90 tiers.
  • Earning more SVB through skate.Pass: We’re increasing the amount of SVBs granted through the combined Standard and Premium tracks of the skate.Pass to 500 SVB.
  • More branded and licensed items in skate.Pass: We’re actively working with our partners to include more branded items in future seasons. While they won’t arrive in time for Season 2, you’ll see an update as soon as we have new items to report.
  • Event currency surplus: Having a surplus of event currency after Skate-o-Ween has been an issue, so, we’re tuning our event economy. You’ll see changes starting with the 7-Ply Maple Harvest event later this month.

Full Circle admitted they gave out too many Tix, and some players now have more than they need, even after buying everything they wanted. To fix this, any Tix bought with funds from SVB will carry over to the next season. However, Tix earned without using SVB won’t all carry over – only a part of them will. Full Circle recommends players use their Tix now so they don’t lose them when the new season starts.

Full Circle Studios has committed to continuously improving Skate throughout its early access phase, ultimately leading to the full game release (version 1.0). They expressed gratitude for players’ understanding as they work on refining and expanding the game.
