Silent Hill F Modders Have Already Removed The Game’s Signature Fog

Although Silent Hill f isn’t officially available until September 25th, players who gained early access on PC have already started creating modifications for the game. One popular mod even eliminates the series’ iconic fog in the town of Ebisugaoka, making things look much brighter for the student Hinako Shimizu – at least until danger appears.

As you can see from the post, the game feels much less daunting when everything is visible. A similar mod removed the fog in last year’s Silent Hill 2 remake. Other popular mods for Silent Hill f include improved graphics using ray tracing, the option to hide the on-screen display, and adjustments to help the game run more smoothly.

Silent Hill f is a new direction for the Silent Hill series, marking the first game set in Japan. The story unfolds in the 1960s, following Hinako as she investigates the mysterious, perpetual fog that has enveloped her town and the terrifying creatures that now inhabit it. TopMob gave the game a very positive review, awarding it 9 out of 10.

Following the success of Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake less than a year ago, Konami is partnering with them once more to recreate the very first Silent Hill game. Currently, they haven’t announced when this new remake will be released.

The popular horror franchise *Silent Hill* is coming back to theaters next year with a new movie, *Return to Silent Hill*. The film will be based on the story of *Silent Hill 2*, and Christophe Gans, who directed the first *Silent Hill* movie, is back as director. The movie stars Jeremy Irvine as James Sunderland, Hannah Emily Anderson as Mary, and Evie Templeton as Laura. *Return to Silent Hill* is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026.
