Just a year ago, Bloober Team released their updated version of the beloved horror game, Silent Hill 2, for consoles and computers. Now, it seems this well-received remake will soon be available to PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers later this month.
A leak suggests that Silent Hill 2 will be added to PlayStation Plus Extra on October 21st, unless something unexpected happens. While Sony hasn’t officially confirmed this, it would mean players could enjoy the game right around Halloween, according to Dealabs via Insider Gaming.
The Silent Hill 2 remake, much like the original 2001 game, casts players as James Sunderland. He’s drawn back to the town of Silent Hill by a mysterious letter that appears to be from his deceased wife, Mary, who died three years prior. However, instead of finding her, James discovers a terrifying and deeply personal nightmare. This same story is also the foundation for the upcoming movie, Return to Silent Hill, scheduled for release in theaters on January 23, 2026.
Konami revealed earlier this year that Bloober Team would be remaking the first *Silent Hill* game, the classic 1999 PlayStation title that launched the popular series. After releasing *Cronos: The New Dawn*, Bloober Team’s CEO, Piotr Babieno, expressed his hope to develop more horror games for Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2 console.
Silent Hill f, the newest installment in the popular game series, launched last month and quickly sold 1 million copies in just one day. TopMob gave the game a very positive review, awarding it 9 out of 10 and calling it a welcome return to the series’ classic style.
