Okay, so I just found out that Shuten Order is finally getting a physical release on the Switch in Japan! It’s called Shuten Kyodan over there, which is cool. Apparently, it’ll be hitting shelves on April 23rd. I’ve been waiting for this, so I’m pretty hyped!
As a huge fan, I was so excited to hear that Spike Chunsoft is bringing physical copies of both versions of the game to North America! And even better, Reef Entertainment will be handling the European release of the second version on the same day! It’s great news because the first version was already out physically in Japan, but now we all get a chance to own a physical copy!

When the new Switch 2 launches, it will come with the latest version of the system already installed – you won’t need to buy a separate update.

You can download Shuten Order digitally for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (via Steam). I’ve compared the game on each platform in this article, and you can find Cullen’s complete review here.
EXNOA, the company behind DMM GAMES, and Tookyo Games have announced that physical copies of Shuten Order will be available for both Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 on April 23, 2026.
In North America, PM Studios will handle distribution of the physical game. In Europe, REEF Entertainment Ltd. will exclusively distribute the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
Keep an eye on the social media channels of PM Studios, REEF Entertainment Ltd., and Spike Chunsoft for details on how and when to pre-order.
