Shuten Order Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and Switch physical releases delayed by one week in North America

Spike Chunsoft has announced a one-week delay for the North American release of Shuten Order on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The new release date is April 30th, and the delay is due to ongoing problems with global shipping.

The delay won’t impact the game’s release in Europe, which Reef Entertainment is handling for the Switch 2. In North America, the game will be available as a Switch 2 Edition – including both the original Switch game and the upgrade on one game card – for $59.99. A physical version for the original Switch will also be available for $49.99. You can see the cover art for both versions below.

You can download Shuten Order digitally on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (via Steam). I’ve compared the game on all three platforms in this article, and Cullen has also published a complete review.

Spike Chunsoft and PM Studios are sorry to announce that the physical release of Shuten Order for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 in North America has been delayed until April 30, 2026. This is due to ongoing problems with global shipping that are beyond our control. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

The European release of the Nintendo Switch 2 physical version is still planned for April 23, 2026, and is not affected by this delay.

PM Studios is handling the physical distribution of Shuten Order for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 in North America, while REEF Entertainment Ltd. is distributing the physical Nintendo Switch 2 version exclusively in Europe.
