Shudder Buys ‘Reflection in a Dead Diamond’ for Multiple Territories Ahead of Berlin Festival Premiere (EXCLUSIVE)

Shudder, a streaming service owned by AMC Networks, has acquired the rights to “Reflection in a Dead Diamond,” the supernatural crime movie directed by Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani, before it makes its debut at the upcoming Berlin International Film Festival.

Under the terms of the acquisition agreement, the film will be distributed across North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, with an exclusive streaming release scheduled for 2025.

The film titled ‘Reflection in a Dead Diamond’ unfolds after the vanishing of a puzzling woman. In a lavish hotel along the French Riviera, a suave 70-year-old former spy encounters the ghosts and beloved figures from his scandalous past, where cinema, recollections, and insanity intertwine, as suggested by the plot summary.”

“The storyline of ‘Reflection in a Dead Diamond’ starts post the disappearance of an enigmatic woman. A chic 70-year-old ex-spy residing in a high-end hotel on the Côte d’Azur faces off with the specters and cherished personalities from his sordid past, where filmmaking, reminiscences, and chaos merge, as hinted by the plot overview.

The movie features Fabio Testi, a Golden Globe-winning Italian actor known for “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”, Yannick Renier, Koen De Bouw, Maria De Medeiros, Céline Camara, and an emerging talent named Thi Mai Nguyen.

He added that “Reflection in a Dead Diamond” pushes their already stunning giallo and Eurothriller-inspired visuals into even more thrilling realms. This is a film that should not be missed, and Shudder is eagerly anticipating its release.

A pair of directors residing in Brussels, Cattet and Forzani, have previously created well-received full-length films such as “Amer” (2009) and “The Strange Color of Your Body’s Tears,” which debuted at Locarno in 2013. Additionally, they contributed to the multi-director film project, “ABC’s of Death.

In ‘Reflection in a Dead Diamond,’ the groundbreaking duo delivers their sequel to the 2017 release, ‘Let the Corpses Tan,’ which had its debut at Locarno.”

This version maintains the original’s meaning while using simpler and more conversational language.

Reflection in a Silent Diamond” – This film is jointly created by Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, and France, with production helmed by Pierre Foulon at Kozak.

Shudder offers a collection of European-style films, featuring titles like “Revenge” directed by Coralie Fargeat and “Speak No Evil” from Christian Tafdrup.
