In simpler terms, the popular game on Steam known as Schedule 1, an early-access simulation about selling drugs, will be introducing a new kind of in-game item due to the outcome of a community vote.
In a Steam post, developer TVGS announced that mushrooms, having gathered over 269,000 votes in a community poll, will become the fourth scheduled drug type within their game. Additionally, players were given the chance to vote on other features such as drivers (with 139,000 votes) and fishing (85,000 votes). While these features didn’t win this round, TVGS mentioned they would be revisited in future community polls.
TVGS asserts that incorporating mushrooms (shrooms) into the production process would introduce a distinctive method, require versatile machinery applicable to both shrooms and other pharmaceuticals, necessitate extra ingredients, and potentially attract new clientele.
Regarding the arrival date of the update, TVGS mentioned that it could land anywhere between mid-October and late November. They described the release window as being flexible, with the intention of preventing possible delays, yet still making room for their planned Halloween update scheduled for October 31.
In March 2025, Schedule 1 was rolled out, offering gamers the opportunity to establish a narcotics empire from its inception. The latest Rival Cartels update in August brought about the possibility to clash with a competing drug cartel, the Benzies family. This addition introduced exciting new gameplay elements such as cartel deals, surprise ambushes, dealer robberies, thefts at dead drops, and more. Additionally, it presented a new property for acquisition, the Hyland Manor, which can be obtained following completion of the Benzies family storyline.
According to the Steam FAQ for the game’s early access phase, which is expected to last approximately two years, the developers intend to enlarge the game map, introduce new drugs, and offer additional entertaining options for players to spend their in-game money on. TVGS predicts a slight increase in the game’s price after it exits early access. At the moment, it can be purchased for $20 and has been recognized as one of TopMob’s top cooperative games of 2025.
