The anime series, which first aired in 2019, gained a lot of attention – some good, some bad. Now, viewers in the U.S. will soon lose access to the complete show on one popular streaming service.
HIDIVE is an anime streaming service with a large and constantly changing library of both classic and new shows. Like other streaming platforms, its selection of titles is updated regularly. In early 2026, several anime will be added and removed, including The Promised Neverland.
Controversial Modern Sci-Fi Anime The Promised Neverland Is Leaving HIDIVE
I’m keeping a close eye on HIDIVE’s catalog this month – there are some changes happening soon! Just a heads-up, a few shows are leaving, and Engaged to the Unidentified is one of them – it’s actually going to be gone on January 7th, so you only have a little time left to watch it!
A similar situation occurred with The Promised Neverland, a popular anime series based on the manga of the same name. It has two seasons, released in 2019 and 2021, totaling 23 episodes. Considering the initial success of the series and its source material, the relatively short length is noteworthy. Both seasons became available on HIDIVE shortly after their release in Japan.
Even though the show has a relatively short number of episodes, it’s still unlikely you’ll be able to finish watching The Promised Neverland on HIDIVE before it’s removed. Both seasons will leave the streaming service on January 8, 2026. KAiJU GiRLS BLACK and Wizard Barristers will also be taken down later in the month.
Good news for fans: both seasons of The Promised Neverland are available to watch online. You can currently stream Season 2 on Hulu. However, the second season wasn’t well-received, as many viewers found the ending unsatisfying, rushed, and significantly different from the original manga.
Despite everything, many fans still adore the first season because it tells a story that’s quite different from the typical, often more cheerful, action and adventure stories you usually find in Shonen Jump comics and their adaptations.
