Shiny Meloetta Debuts in Pokemon Go Road to Unova Event: Wild Encounters, Paid Tickets & More

Get ready for an upcoming Pokemon Go event focusing on the Unova region, packed with fresh experiences! This special occasion marks the first appearance of Shiny Meloetta. Make sure to stay updated and be part of the excitement without missing a single detail.

The Pokemon Go Tour: Unova will break down into three main festivities. There will be two physical gatherings held in Los Angeles and New Taipei City, along with a global celebration.

First, a series of events known as the “Road to Unova” must occur worldwide, allowing Pokemon Go players the opportunity to capture the Mythical Meleotta in its Shiny form. This exciting creature will make its debut during this period, along with new encounters for wild Pokemon, Raid bosses, and an updated Pokedex visual design, among other additions.

Pokemon marked with an ‘*’ can be encountered as Shiny.

Road to Unova event: Date & time

The Pokemon Go Road to Unova event is scheduled for Monday, February 24, 2025, commencing at 10:00 AM and concluding on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the same hour, all according to local time.

For a limited period, all players will be given complimentary access to the Tour Pass. This allows them to earn rank-based rewards and bonuses. Players who desire enhanced benefits can opt for the Tour Pass Deluxe at an additional cost, offering superior rewards, quicker advancement, as well as an exclusive encounter with the Mythical Victini and a novel item called the Lucky Trinket.

As a dedicated fan, I’m excited to remind you all that the events in Los Angeles and New Taipei City are taking place from February 21, 2025, to February 23, 2025! The Global Tour is set to commence on March 1, 2025, and will wrap up on March 2, 2025. Don’t miss out!

Pokemon debuts

For the first time in Pokemon Go, players will be able to find and catch Shiny Meloetta.

Since 2021, Aria Forme of Pokemon has been a part of the game, yet it’s the Shiny version that is set to make its first appearance during the Road to Unova event.

To participate in the Masterwork Research, each player should buy a ticket that costs $4.99 USD (or the equivalent amount in your local currency). This offer will be available from the start of the event until March 2, 2025, at 6:00 PM in your local time zone.

The Masterwork Research does not expire, so players can complete it at their own pace.

Moreover, you’ll find both the standard Dynamax version of Darumaka and its Shiny counterpart being introduced to the game via Max Battles at designated Power Spots.

Wild encounters

The following Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild during the Road to Unova event:

Event bonuses

These are the bonuses that will be active during the Road to Unova event:

• The Remote Raid Pass limit will increase to 20 from February 24, until February 28.
• There will be no limit on Remote Raids from March 1, until March 2.

Special Backgrounds

Catching 5-Star Raid Bosses in gameplay offers an opportunity for players to acquire unique Special Backgrounds, which serve as a testament to their journey and can be viewed on the respective Pokémon’s profile.

In this setup, we’ll have two distinctive backdrops, one reminiscent of Pokemon Black and the other of Pokemon White.

• Either background: Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Landorus (Therian Forme), and Genesect.
• Black: Tornadus (Therian Forme), and Reshiram.
• White: Thundurus (Therian Forme), and Zekrom.

Combining a Reshiram or Zekrom against a unique backdrop with a Kyurem possessing an opposing backdrop results in the merged Black/White Kyurem acquiring a novel version of its surroundings.

Avatar Items & Stickers

Two Avatar Items will be available to purchase in the in-game shop during the event:

• Black Kyurem Wings
• White Kyurem Backpack

More so, a Go Tour 2025 Tee will be available for free as a Tour Pass reward.
