Honestly, I was hoping we’d moved past needing more of the same stories, but here we go again. Emily Blunt is signed on for another A Quiet Place sequel! John Krasinski (her husband and the guy running the show) just announced A Quiet Place: Part III is coming out on July 30, 2027. It’s great to see Emily, Cillian Murphy, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe are all returning, but I wish they weren’t still running from those sound-sensitive aliens! They’re adding Jack O’Connell, Jason Clarke, and Katy O’Brian to the cast this time around, which is cool. Variety says filming starts this spring in New York, and Krasinski is writing and directing again, so we know what to expect. I’m a fan, but I’m a little tired of the silence!
As a big fan of the Quiet Place movies, I’m excited about the next installment, even though it’s a bit confusing to think of it as the third and the fourth film in the series. With the prequel, Day One, starring Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn, already out this year, this new one brings the total to four movies. Considering the franchise has made almost $900 million worldwide, you’d think they could’ve gotten a little more imaginative with the title than just Part III! Seriously, The Quietest Place? The Quiet Place: Here We Go Again? Even The Quiet Place: The Don’t Speakquel would have been better! Oh well…
John Krasinski expressed his pride in being involved with the A Quiet Place films, both past and present. He shared the news on Instagram with a post featuring the song “One Last Time” from Hamilton, leading many to believe this could be the end of the series. This would allow Emily Blunt to take on roles where she can speak freely and give Krasinski time to start planning a sequel to IF.
