Owlcat Games and Another Angle Games recently revealed new gameplay footage for their upcoming computer role-playing game, Shadow of the Road, during the Autumn 2025 Galaxies Showcase.
I just heard about this cool new CRPG called Shadow of the Road! Owlcat Games announced it back in August 2024, and it’s coming to PC through Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store sometime down the line. Even better, a demo is already out on Steam, so I’m gonna check it out! They also dropped a new gameplay trailer if you want to see more.
Owlcat Games and Another Angle Games just released a new trailer for their upcoming turn-based RPG, Shadow of the Road. Shown at the Galaxies Gaming Showcase, the trailer offers a look at the game’s world, which is caught between preserving its traditions and facing the upheaval of a violent civil war and rapid modernization.
It’s the perfect time of year for Shadow of the Road to reveal its latest creation: a dark and distorted version of our world, inhabited by restless spirits and mythical creatures called yōkai.

Shadow of the Road takes place in feudal Japan, a time of conflict between the powerful Tokugawa Shogunate and Emperor Mutsuhito. The game blends classic Japanese culture with steampunk technology and mythical elements, creating a unique and captivating world. Players lead a team of heroes, making choices that impact the story and using each character’s special skills to change the course of the war.

- Your Story: Join a daring journey led by Tokugawa’s spymaster, who recruits ronin warriors Satoru and Akira to protect a boy with immense, uncontrollable powers. As the adventure intensifies, they are joined by characters, each of whom has their own history and motivation.
