Prepare for a chilling experience as the Switch 2 is set to serve as a center for horror gaming. During the September Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that Capcom plans to bring Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village to the Switch 2, with Resident Evil 9: Requiem also arriving on the console. All three games will be available on the Switch 2 starting February 27, 2026.

After a less-than-enthusiastic response to Resident Evil 6 in terms of both reception and sales, Resident Evil 7 marked a significant shift for the franchise and Capcom. This game, the first full-length title using the RE Engine, brought the series back to its survival-horror roots and garnered widespread critical praise. Following this success, Capcom’s remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 were also met with positive feedback, while the Resident Evil 4 remake was one of the top video games in 2023.
In February 2026, the upcoming installment of the Resident Evil series titled “Resident Evil: Requiem” will be released for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. This game brings a fresh character named Grace Ashcroft into play and takes players back to Raccoon City, a location that has remained untouched since its demolition in Resident Evil 2 and 3.
In September’s Nintendo Direct, you’ll find a wealth of updates and previews. Don’t miss out-take a peek at the gallery below for a comprehensive rundown on the major announcements.
