As a huge horror fan, I really get why people go all-out for Halloween – for me, October is basically a month-long horror movie marathon! And you can’t talk about Halloween without mentioning John Carpenter’s Halloween – it’s *the* classic, a must-watch for anyone who loves the genre. This year, I’m especially excited because you can actually see it back on the big screen! They’re showing not just the original, but also two sequels – Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, which I think is unfairly overlooked, and Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, which is just wonderfully strange.
According to Bloody Disgusting, Trancas International Films and CineLife Entertainment are organizing these screenings. Tickets will be sold through the CineLife website once all screening dates are finalized, so remember to check the showtimes at your local cinema.
Trancas International Films’ Malek Akkad shared his thoughts on bringing Halloween back to cinemas: “There’s nothing quite like seeing Halloween on the big screen – that’s how it was meant to be enjoyed. For a lot of families and fans, going to see Halloween in theaters has become a yearly tradition – a chance to experience the thrills, fear, and terror of Michael Myers together. We’re excited to team up with CineLife Entertainment again, not only to show Halloween, but also Halloween 4 and Halloween 5, to audiences everywhere.”
Bernadette McCabe, representing CineLife, stated, “Halloween isn’t simply a movie; it’s a complete experience that’s become a tradition for many during the autumn season. We are excited to re-release these beloved films in cinemas, allowing both dedicated fans and new audiences to enjoy the thrills, frights, and enjoyment of celebrating October with Michael Myers.”
What’s the Best ‘Halloween’ Sequel of All Time?

Universal Pictures
I think every Halloween movie has something to offer fans, but Halloween 4 and 5 always struck me as a bit different. They aren’t exactly the most iconic entries in the series, and honestly, a lot of us Halloween fans consider them the weakest when it comes to Michael Myers and his whole babysitter-slashing thing. Still, they’re not *terrible* – you can still watch them. Most people agree that Halloween: Resurrection is definitely the worst sequel, though.
When it comes to standout films, many people consider Halloween III: Season of the Witch to be a classic that still holds up today. Halloween H20: 20 Years Later is another well-regarded sequel in the series. However, it’s common for everyone to have a different favorite, and the horror community fully embraces that diversity of opinion – in fact, it’s something they enjoy!
It’s difficult to find fault with 2018’s Halloween (even though it’s a sequel, the studio presented it as a remake or reboot). The movie works well, showing Michael Myers at his most unpredictable and terrifying, and it doesn’t try to explain or excuse his violent behavior. Instead, it portrays Myers as a force of pure evil, where his terrible deeds aren’t driven by any plan-they’re simply and disturbingly “natural.”
