Sega celebrates 65 years with two limited Seiko collaboration watches

To celebrate its 65th anniversary, Sega has partnered with Seiko to create two special edition watches, available in Japan. Sega was established in 1960, and these limited-edition timepieces commemorate that founding.

Sega, a well-known Japanese game company established in 1960, is famous for popular franchises like Sonic the Hedgehog and Yakuza. After stopping production of its own consoles in the early 2000s, Sega began publishing games for other companies’ platforms and has since broadened its reach with games available worldwide and in various other forms of media.

To celebrate Sega’s 65th anniversary, Seiko has created a special collaboration watch available in black and silver. Both versions feature Sega-inspired designs and logos on the watch face and casing. The watches will be released in early October 2026, and you can pre-order them now from Kadokawa in Japan.

The Black model has a black face with a blue bezel, and comes with a black-coated case and strap. The Silver model features a white face, a black bezel, and a silver-finished stainless steel case and bracelet.

Both watches feature numbers styled after Sega’s iconic font, and both display the Seiko and Sega logos side-by-side at the 3 o’clock mark.

I was really excited to see what made these watches tick, and they use Seiko’s 7T92 movement. It powers the three regular hands and a simple date window. They also have a stopwatch feature handled by three smaller dials, and the coolest part? The dial at 6 o’clock has an outline of Sonic the Hedgehog on it! It’s a really neat detail for fans like me.

To mark its 65th anniversary, Sega is partnering with Seiko to release limited-edition watches. These special watches will cost ¥71,500, which is about $460.

So, I checked out these watches, and they’re pretty solid when it comes to water – they can handle up to 10 bars of pressure, which is great. Accuracy-wise, they run about plus or minus 15 seconds a month, which is totally acceptable for me. The case itself is metal and feels good on the wrist – it measures about 1.86 inches long, 1.54 inches wide, and just under half an inch thick – 0.44 to be exact.

Every unit has a unique serial number etched onto the back of the case, located below a logo celebrating Sega’s 65th anniversary.

The Sega 65th Anniversary Seiko watches will cost ¥71,500 (about $457) in Japan. You can pre-order them now from the Kadokawa online store, and they’re expected to ship in early October 2026. Both color options will be available then.
