Sean Bean to Play Sheriff of Nottingham in ‘Robin Hood’ Series at MGM+

Sean Bean has joined the upcoming “Robin Hood” series at MGM+, EbMaster has learned.

In this production, Bean is set to share the screen with Jack Patten, our established series protagonist portraying Robin Hood. Bean assumes the role of the infamous Sheriff of Nottingham.

The official description of the Sheriff states:

The Sheriff of Nottingham we are discussing is exceptional in many ways. He isn’t just a law enforcer; he is also a diplomat, a tactician, and a city planner for Nottingham. He is a devoted father, a politician, and a relative of King Henry II. He navigates through the treacherous currents of power, confronting not only an outlaw lurking in the woods but also the schemes of Eleanor of Aquitaine and the ambitious Norman Barons around him. Cunning and practical, he governs with a firm grip, not out of cruelty, but from a deeply held conviction that the Norman interpretation of law should be upheld.

Bean is primarily recognized for his appearances in movies such as “The Lord of the Rings,” “Troy,” “Goldeneye,” and “Ronin.” He also gained significant acclaim for his role in the first season of “Game of Thrones” portraying Ned Stark, and has further graced our screens in series like “Accused,” “Broken,” “Henry VIII,” and “Legends.”
