Sea of Remnants gets new gameplay video, closed alpha set for February 5

I’m so excited! NetEase and Joker Studio just dropped a new gameplay video for their upcoming RPG, Sea of Remnants, and it looks amazing! They also announced the closed alpha test starts February 5th on PC – I’ve already signed up to try it out!

Sea of Remnants, an upcoming game for mobile, PC, and PlayStation 5, is scheduled to launch this year. It boasts a large roster of over 300 characters, shifting alliances between factions, strategic island battles, and exciting naval combat. You can add it to your wishlist on Steam and PlayStation now. A new gameplay trailer showcases the game’s open world, battles against massive sea creatures, and fun mini-games within the city of Orbtopia.

NetEase Games recently showed off more gameplay footage for their upcoming open-world RPG, Sea of Remnants. Developed by Joker Studio, the game is a fantasy adventure set on the ocean and will launch on PlayStation®5 and PC (via Steam) in 2026. A Closed Alpha Test will begin on February 5th.

You play as a sailor made of puppets, lost at sea with no memory of who you are. You’ll sail dangerous waters, fight strange creatures, build up your fleet of ships, and team up with over 300 different characters. Your decisions also shape the pirate city of Orbtopia, changing it as you play.

The latest gameplay trailer gives players a sneak peek into the pirate life in Sea of Remnants. It showcases the game’s open-world exploration, exciting battles against sea monsters, and a variety of mini-games found in the beautiful city of Orbtopia.

So, I just saw the trailer and they’re letting a few of us test out the game soon! It’s called the “Wanderer Test,” a closed alpha happening on PC from February 5th to the 12th. If you want to try and get in, you’ve gotta apply! They’re taking applications now until January 23rd. You can do that by following their official Sea of Remnants X account and interacting with their latest post, or by joining their Discord and filling out the application form. They’re also putting the form up on Steam and Reddit, so you’ll find it around. Heads up though – spots are super limited, and they’ll only be contacting the “Eligible Captains” who get chosen to play.
