It was named the Best Game of the Year in three locations and received the Best Story award in seven others, all within East and Southeast Asia.

Its popularity likely stems from its faithful adaptation of classic Gundam storylines, alongside new content like Gundam SEED Recollection, which helped the game win awards for its story.
