Scrubs Sequel Video Reveals First Look At Zach Braff & Donald Faison’s Return

A short preview video has been released for the new Scrubs sequel coming to ABC. Like many shows these days, Scrubs is returning after almost 20 years since it originally ended with its ninth season.

Now that Scrubs is being filmed again, the show’s official Instagram account posted a new video. It features Zach Braff and Donald Faison reprising their famous roles, along with other actors fans will recognize from the original series. You can watch it below!

The video features a heartwarming reunion of Sarah Chalke and Judy Reyes, reprising their roles as Elliot Reid and Carla Espinosa. Joining them are Phill Lewis as Hooch and Robert Maschio as Todd Quinlan, both previously announced to return for the new series in October 2025.

Although John C. McGinley wasn’t seen in the promotional video, he’s returning as Perry Cox in the new series as a guest star. The show will center on JD and Turk reconnecting and practicing medicine again, highlighting how much has changed while their friendship remains strong.

The upcoming Scrubs reboot will follow a fresh group of doctors and interns, with Jacob Dudman, David Gridley, Ava Bunn, Amanda Morrow, and Layla Mohammadi joining the cast as the new interns. It’s a medical comedy planned for ABC.

Joel Kim Booster and Vanessa Bayer are joining the upcoming Scrubs sequel, playing Dr. Erik Park and Vanessa Bayer’s character, respectively. ABC has hinted that the show will follow both familiar and new characters as they experience life, love, and unexpected events at Sacred Heart Hospital with plenty of humor and emotion.

Bill Lawrence is an executive producer on the new Scrubs revival, but he won’t be overseeing the day-to-day creative direction of the show. Originally, Aseem Batra and Tim Hobert were both going to be showrunners, but Hobert left the project last month because of disagreements about the show’s direction. Now, Aseem Batra is the sole showrunner.

The show Scrubs will return on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 8 PM on ABC. The premiere week will feature two episodes shown one right after the other.
