After being featured in February’s Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, Square Enix has released new details and screenshots for Paranormasight: The Mermaid’s Curse, giving us a better look at the story, characters, and how the game plays.

Paranormasight: The Mermaid’s Curse will be available on February 19th for Nintendo Switch, computers (via Steam), and both iPhones and Android phones.

Delve into Mermaid Folklore

This summer adventure takes place on a remote island in Japan’s Mie prefecture, near Ise-Shima. It’s a coming-of-age story filled with supernatural mystery, centered around an old legend about mermaids and the possibility of living forever.

As their lives intertwine, they find themselves caught up in a surprising and dramatic story about the mermaid’s curse – a long-forgotten legend finally coming to light.

Step into a remote island in August 198X nestled in Ise-Shima, Mie Prefecture.

Kameshima is a small island located in Ise Bay. Yuza Minakuchi, a young pearl diver, lives there with his close friend, Azami Kumoi, and they spend their days diving together to collect pearls.

Strange things begin to happen on the island after a man has a bizarre encounter with a doppelganger deep beneath the sea. A young woman with a hidden past, a treasure hunter from abroad, and a curious housewife looking into a drowning all find their lives intertwined. As their paths converge, they get closer to uncovering the truth behind the Mermaids of Ise, a long-forgotten legend shrouded in mystery.
