Saturday Night Live UK cast revealed

The lineup of performers for the UK version of Saturday Night Live has been announced before its premiere in March.

Saturday Night Live recently marked its 50th anniversary, and over the past five decades, it’s been a springboard for many famous comedians.

Saturday Night Live has launched the careers of many of America’s most famous comedians and actors, including stars like Chevy Chase, John Belushi, Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Tina Fey, and Kristen Wiig.

And now the UK is giving it a go, via the first ever British incarnation of the hit NBC show.

Who are the stars of Saturday Night Live UK?

The first season of SNL UK will feature eleven comedians: Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young.

Sky is launching a new UK version of the show, inspired by Saturday Night Live. It will be broadcast live each week and feature a different guest host and musical performer each time. The show aims to capture the exciting, unpredictable spirit of SNL, but with a uniquely British perspective.

Each episode is created, practiced, and performed all within the same week, live in front of an audience. It includes a beginning monologue, current-event sketches, live musical performances, and a British version of SNL’s famous news parody, ‘Weekend Update’.

You might recognise two faces from Taskmaster

Taskmaster is a hugely popular comedy show in the UK, and two former contestants, Ania Magliano and Emma Sidi, are now appearing on Saturday Night Live.

Ania, who appeared on Taskmaster Season 20, is eager to join Saturday Night Live UK. She enjoys doing stand-up, but she was particularly excited by the opportunity to collaborate with other talented comedians. She also thinks being on SNL UK would be a fantastic experience.

Joining Saturday Night Live is a dream come true – it’s such a huge comedy landmark, and I never thought I’d be on it! I’m incredibly excited to perform live on Saturday nights.

Emma, a contestant on Taskmaster Season 18, explains that she’s a big fan of comedy, particularly character-based comedy, and feels there’s a lack of it on British television at the moment.

I loved watching shows like French & Saunders, The Fast Show, and Reeves and Mortimer when I was younger – they were really groundbreaking for alternative comedy. I see Saturday Night Live as a great chance to bring that kind of humor back to television and the internet.

When is Saturday Night Live UK on?

Saturday Night Live is heading to Sky and Now in the UK on March 21, 2026.

This new Sky Original series begins with a strong hook: each of its six episodes starts with the energetic announcement, “Live from London, it’s Saturday night!”

Okay, so they haven’t announced who’s writing for the show yet, which is kinda frustrating. And honestly, I’m still in the dark about whether or not SNL UK will even be shown over here in the US, or where we’d be able to watch it if it is. I’m hoping they announce details soon!
